Fareez is winning protégé in Mentor Milenia

SHAH ALAM: Fareez Hazwan Fauzi, 18, the protege of singer Hazama Azmi, emerged as the winning protege of TV3 talent search Mentor Milenia yesterday.

They took home the top prize of RM100,000.

The winning protege performed two songs in the final concert broadcast live on TV3 from Sri Pentas 2, Plaza Alam Sentral here at 9pm. They were Drama King and Apokalips.

Rossaidi “Qody” Rani, 21, the protege of singer Hanifah “Black” Hanafiah finished second and shared the runner-up’s prize of RM50,000 with his mentor.

Black’s other protege Syazwanie “Wanie” Basri, 21, shared the third prize of RM20,000 with him.

Mentor Milenia, the eighth season of Mentor, also saw participation from two other singers namely Akim Ahmad and Azlan Roslee of Azlan And The Typewriter.

Akim’s proteges were Farhan Zulkifli and Saheeba Raja Iftikhar Ahmed, while Azlan’s proteges were Sharifah Nurilmuhayati Syed Hussain and Izzati Rashid.

Hazama’s other protege was Amira Nasir.

In the show hosted by Marsha Londoh and Issey, the proteges’ marks were determined by judges Ajai and Azmeer (50 per cent), a semi-professional jury (20 per cent) and viewers’ votes (30 per cent).
