Burnt remains of three people found in MPV in oil palm estate

PASIR GUDANG: The charred remains of three people were found in an MPV at an oil palm estate in Sungai Layang, Ulu Tiram, near here today.

The bodies, which may have been in the vehicle for the past three days, were found by an estate worker at 4pm today. The worker notified the authorities about his gruesome discovery.

Seri Alam District Police chief Deputy Superintendent Norazam Shaari said a team from the state police's Serious Crimes (D9) unit were at the scene to conduct investigations.

He said one body was found in the vehicle's front seat, while the other two bodies were in the back seat.

Police were still ascertaining the identities of the bodies.

Norazam said the case has yet to be classified. He said so far, there has been no information on missing people in the Seri Alam district.

"The burns were 100 per cent. The bodies were burnt beyond recognition.

"Initial investigation showed the bodies may have been in the vehicle for three days," said Norazam.
