Mahathir-Lim Kit Siang declaration pointless without majority support of BN leaders: Hadi

KUALA LUMPUR: PAS president Datuk Seri Abdul Hadi Awang said the Mahathir-Lim Kit Siang declaration was pointless without the majority support from Barisan Nasional leaders.

“I have made it clear earlier as there are things that we (PAS and other opposition parties) agree on and there are things that we oppose. There is no 100 per cent agreement on this (declaration).

"We agree on changes but to us, that must be done in a democratic manner. The thing that we don't agree on is that it is being done in haste,” he said.

Hadi added changes should be done either through the balloting box or through a vote of no confidence.

"The no-confidence vote must be from those in parliament, involving the Umno members of parliament themselves.

"If Umno leaders refuse and it is only us, what is the point (of doing this)? It is pointless," he said.
