Najib surprises Kuching diners with food court walkabout

KUCHING: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak began his three-day working visit to Sarawak with a walkabout programme at the Kubah Ria Complex here.

Hundreds of visitors thronged the food court to catch a glimpse of Najib, who was accompanied by Chief Minister Tan Sri Adenan Satem and several leaders from the state and Federal level.

Families who were having their dinner here were caught by surprise to see the prime minister at the food court.

Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, State Housing and Tourism Minister Datuk Abang Johari Openg were among those present at the event.

Tomorrow, Najib is scheduled to join more than 5,000 people at the launch of the Malaysian National Digital Inclusion (Minda) programme organised by the Communications and Multimedia Ministry at the Kuching Waterfront.

Later in the afternoon, he will launch the 1Malaysia People's Housing (PR1MA) exhibition at the former state legislative assembly building in Petra Jaya near here.
