PATTANI: A reporter and a man were shot dead in a rubber smallholding in Kampong Bado, Yala, early this morning.
Yala assistant police chief Pol. Col. Krisada Keawjandee said police received a report about the killing of Duraning Samoh, 51, and Abdul Aziz Salleh, 36, by unknown assailants at 6.30 am.
“Duraning Samoh died at a nearby hospital while the reporter Abdul Aziz Salleh died at the scene,” he told reporters here.
Abdul Aziz worked for the Police Si Square news agency.
He said villagers reported they heard gunshots at a hut in the rubber smallholding at 4am but dared not approach the location.
He said at about 6am, they went to the hut and found the bloodied bodies of the two men.
Police were still investigating the motive for the incident, he added. --Bernama
