MALACCA: A fire broke out at a vehicle painting workshop in Malim Jaya here, destroying four of the seven cars kept there.
State Fire and Rescue Department Deputy Superintendent (operations) Kamarulzaman Mohd Din said the department received a distress call at 6.51pm and arrived at the scene with 26 firemen six minutes later.
"When we arrived, strong winds caused the fire to spread quickly.
"However we managed to bring the fire under control and prevented it from spreading to three vehicles parked nearby.
He said said the fire totally destroyed a Nissan Livina, Nissan Sentra, Proton Wira dan Hyundai Atos.
The fire also destroyed part of the workshop's office.
