New Pasar Tani site in Permas Jaya

JOHOR BARU: The third permanent site for Pasar Tani (farmer's market) in Johor will be built in Permas Jaya, here.

Johor Agriculture and Agro-based Industries Committee chairman Ismail Mohamed said the new facility on a 0.6ha plot of land will cost about RM2.5 million and will provide consumers with produce at cheaper prices as compared to other places.

Ismail said a ground-breaking ceremony will be held for the new permanent site for the market at Jalan 9/1, Permas Jaya on Saturday.

The event will be held in conjunction with the two-day 'Karnival Muafakat Tani Johor' on Saturday and Sunday, where agricultural entrepreneurs can promote their products.

He said the new site will accommodate 76 lots for the sale of fresh produce and another six lots for food stalls as well as other facilities.

On another matter, Ismail said there were plans to set up a My Farm Outlet in Johor Baru at the Jalan Datin Halimah FAMA site.

When completed, it will be the first MyFarm outlet in Johor.
