1MDB truth revealed, now time to move on: Salleh

KUALA LUMPUR: The truth behind the 1Malaysia Development Bhd (1MDB) allegations made against Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has been revealed.

Communications and Multimedia Minister Datuk Seri Salleh Said Keruak said prime minister had done no wrong and Malaysians need to move on.

In a blog posting yesterday, the Sabah Umno deputy chief said the Public Accounts Committee's report on 1MDB had not implicated Najib in any wrongdoing.

"This sums up what the one-year mudslinging and unfounded accusations have been reduced to. There is no evidence of any criminal activities, RM42billion of 1MDB's money has not disappeared into thin air, and RM2.6 billion of 1MDB's money has not been transferred to the Prime Minister's personal bank account," Salleh Said wrote.

He said all they had was an allegation of bad management and the assumption that the prime minister must have been aware of it, and even if he was not, the buck has to stop at his (Najib) table.

The PAC report which was presented in the Parliament yesterday had proven that the strategic development company did not lose RM42 billion.

The claim was made by former premier Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad and the 106-page report revealed only several weaknesses in the practices by its board of directors and the management.
