3 parang-weilding men attack couple, set car of fire at Taman Tasik Titiwangsa

KUALA LUMPUR: A couple escaped unhurt when they were attacked by three parang-wielding men at Jalan Tembeling, Taman Tasik Titiwangsa here last Wednesday.

In the 5am-incident, the victims, an 18-year old teenager and his girlfriend had parked their car near the lake, before going for a jog.

Wangsa Maju district police chief Superintendent Mohamad Roy Suhaimi Sarif said seconds later three men arrived in a Perodua Viva, and charged upon the victims with parangs.

“The victim attempted to reverse his car but the vehicle got stuck at the road shoulder. The couple then fled on foot.

“The three assailants smashed the windshield screen and the passenger’s window before torching the car,” he said.

A police report was subsequently lodged, and six people including two women were detained two days later to facilitate investigation.

“Two of those detained were involved in the attack. We are tracking down another suspect who was in the car at that time,” he said.
