M'sia to host first professional boxing championship

MALAYSIA will host its first professional boxing championship this Saturday at the One World Hotel in Bandar Utama.

The inaugural Malaysia Professional Boxing Championship - World Youth Belt will feature international boxers who will be defending the Youth Belt by the World Professional Boxing Federation (WPBF).

The event, which also offers cash prize will be a five-star formal black tie sit down event that will be graced by high level government officials, foreign dignitaries and embassies officials, captains of the industry and well known celebrities.

Boxers include those from Brazil, Russia, Uzbekistan, Indonesia, Philippines, Mexico and a home-grown Malaysian talent.

Sports Minister Khairy Jamaluddin, is also expected to be present at the event.

The official weigh in session will take place tomorrow.
