Najib arrives in Sabah to launch Sabah Pan-Borneo Highway project

PAPAR: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak arrived at Kampung Andus here today to launch the RM12.86 billion Sabah Pan Borneo Highway project.

Also present was his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, Chief Minister Datuk Seri Musa Aman, Deputy Chief Minister Tan Sri Joseph Pairin Kitingan who is also Infrastructure Development Minister, Works Minister Datuk Seri Fadillah Yusof, Energy, Green Technology and Water Minister Datuk Seri Maximus Ongkili. among other dignitaries.

The first package for the project involves a 11.7 kilometre stretch from here to Donggongon, which is under the project's First Phase totalling 706km where the majority of works involve an upgrading into a dual carriageway.

The total length of the Sabah Pan Borneo Highway project is 1,236 km starting from Sindumin to Tawau, Tamparuli to Ranau and spanning over Kimanis - Keningau - Tawau.

Targeted to be completed by Dec 31, 2021, it is expected to change the infrastructure landscape and connect main cities in this state, providing a more efficient, comfortable and safer network for 3.74 million folks in Sabah.
