KUALA LUMPUR: Datuk Johan Abdullah was today announced as the new Tabung Haji Group Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer.
He will take over the duties from Tan Sri Ismee Ismail, who had been at the helm for more than 10 years, effective July 1.
Johan holds a Master’s Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Morehead State University, Kentucky, and a Bachelor Degree in Business Administration (Finance) from Eastern Michigan University.
Prior to his time at Tabung Haji, Johan had served as the Chief Executive Officer and Group Managing Director of BIMB Holdings Bhd from May 15, 2008 to January 15, 2015.
He has extensive experience in corporate finance, capital market and Islamic banking, and held various roles in Bursa Malaysia Bhd, serving as its Deputy Chief Regulatory Officer from Jan to April 2008.
He was also part of the operation in all aspects of Stock Exchange and served as the Head of Issues and Listing Division from 1999 to December 2007, as the Senior Vice President of Securities Issue from January 2002 to December 2004, and as the Vice President of Listing from January 1999 to December 2001.
He was conferred the Darjah Jiwa Mahkota Kelantan (DJMK) which carries the title Dato’ by KDYMM the Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V in 2014.
