Those who spread rumours of fights and unrest within KL will face action, vows KL police chief

KUALA LUMPUR: Police will not hesitate to take stern action against anyone who disseminates unverified claims on supposed 'fights' set take place in KL.

City police chief Datuk Amar Singh Ishar Singh in a press statement today stressed that such misleading rumours served to create fear and disorder in the city.

"Those who disseminate false information and incites anyone to believe the rumour is guilty, according to the law.

"We will not hesitate to take action against those who wish to disrupt the peace by stoking racism issues as a means to create chaos.

"We are closely monitoring the situation and have sufficient strength, and are prepared to tackle any situation and deal with the threat," he said.
