We will monitor the performance of our winning candidates: Zahid

SERIAN: Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi will keep tabs on the performance of Sarawak Barisan Nasional election candidates after they win the polls.

Zahid, who is also BN Member of Parliament, also ordered all candidates contesting for the ruling coalition to continue their work on the ground and to look after the welfare of their constituents.

He said this after attending a programme with four BN candidates contesting at constituencies located within the Serian division.

"I will monitor their activities to ensure that they provide the best services for the people in the state.

"I want to remind them to continue working for the people even after the election," he said in his speech during a gathering with Volunteer Reserve Coprs (Rela) programme at the SJKC Chung Hua Hall here today.

Home Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Mustafa Ibrahim and Rela director-general Datuk Kamariah Mohd Noah were present.

Also present were Human Resources Minister Datuk Seri Richard Riot Jaem, who is also Serian Member of Parliament, and State Infrastructure Development and Communications Minister Datuk Seri Micheal Manyin.

Micheal is defending his Tebedu seat for the fifth term for the May 7 polls.

Others in attendance include BN candidates for Tarat, Datuk Roland Sagah Wee In, Martin Ben (Kedup) and John Ilus (Bukit Semuja).
