Azmin will be a hated man if he challenges Sarawak's immigration law

KOTA KINABALU: PKR deputy president Datuk Seri Azmin Ali will be a hated man if he insists on entering Sarawak despite being barred by the state government.

President of Pro Barisan Nasional NGO, Zulkarnain Mahdar said this was because Azmin's action would challenge the immigration rights of the Sarawak state government.

"A majority of Sarawakians are very sensitive of immigration matters. Azmin's challenge may spark extreme reaction from Sarawakians," he said in a statement, here today.

The Selangor Menteri Besar insisted on entering Sarawak tomorrow although he was barred until May 7.

Zulkarnain said Sarawak has the right to bar individuals from entering the state as stipulated in the agreement during the formation of Malaysia in 1963.

He advised Azmin to emulate Rafizi Ramli who was allowed to enter Sarawak after making an application. --Bernama
