SHAH ALAM: Kedai Makan Pecal Lele is a small and relatively unknown outlet which offers delicious food.

Located in Kampung Padang Jawa near here, it is well worth the drive along the narrow road leading up to it.

People flock to Kedai Makan Pecal Lele for many reasons but mostly for its delicious signature Indonesian dishes consisting of pecal ayam (ayam penyet or smashed chicken), pecal lele (deep fried catfish) as well as pecal daging (grilled beef) which are priced between RM5 and RM6.

The main dishes come with a dollop of tomato-sambal and vegetables.

And the owner of the eatery ensures that you will leave feeling full as the meal comes with unlimited rice, side dishes and soup.

A variety of juices, including iced mango, grape and guava, are available at RM1.50 a glass.

There are also other Indonesian favourites such as soto, gado gado, mee ayam and bakso.

One loyal patron, Mohd Faiz Md Khair, 30, said he had been a fan of
the eatery while he was studying at the nearby Universiti Teknologi Mara several years ago.

“This shop was a favourite among my university mates and I even then.

“We would often hang out at the outlet as the prices were affordable for us as students back then.

“Even now, their prices are
considered low especially for students.

“I now frequent the shop with my wife,” he said.
