State govt must prioritise environmental protection, says Pahang Sultan

KUANTAN: The Sultan of Pahang Sultan Ahmad Shah today said the state government should give priority to the protection of environment in its development programmes.

He said this was important as the state and its contents would be inherited by the future generations.

"It is compulsory that we leave behind a pristine natural heritage for them," he said when opening the state assembly meeting at Wisma Sri Pahang here.

On another note, the sultan said the state government should also look into the burden of the people in facing the rising cost of living.

"I hope the state government can find ways to help those affected," he said.
