Sabah trader charged with attempting to sodomise nine-year-old boy

KUALA LUMPUR: A trader from Sabah was hauled to the Sessions Court today for allegedly trying to sodomise a then-nine-year-old boy in a bathroom here over five years ago.

Jakarullah Nurun, a Semporna native of Bajau descent, claimed trial to committing non-consensual unnatural carnal intercourse against the victim at Jalan Klang Lama, Cheras here.

Police nabbed Jakarullah, 35, over the crime allegedly perpetrated between 4.15pm and 4.30pm on Aug 8, 2010.

Jakarullah may be penalised with a maximum jail term of 20 years and whipped if convicted under Section 377C of the Penal Code, read together with Section 511 of the same Code.

Judge Datin M. Kunasundary did not grant bail and fixed June 15 for mention.

Deputy public prosecutor Ahmad Zikry Jaafar prosecuted while Jakarullah was unrepresented.
