Girl breaks leg, brother injured after motorcycle hits MPV

MARANG: A 15-year-old girl broke her right leg while her 11-year-old brother suffered bruises and minor injuries on his leg after their motorcycle grazed an MPV near Kampung Mak Kemas, Bukit Payong, here today.

It was learnt that the 15-year-old student from Kampung Paloh, Mak Kemas, here, was heading towards SK Undang in Marang to send her brother, when the incident occured at 6.55 am.

District police chief Deputy Superintendent Mohd Suhaimi Ali said the MPV, which was coming from the opposite direction, had grazed the victims' motorcycle.The girl is a Form Three student of a secondary school in Kuala Terengganu.

Mohd Suhaimi said the victim who suffered injuries and broke her right leg was sent to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for further treatment while his brother received outpatient treatment at the same hospital.

"Those with information on the incident should call the nearest police station to assist the investigation," he said today.

Mohd Suhaimi said the case is being investigated under Section 43(1) of the Road and Transport Act 1987 for reckless driving.
