TTDI cop praised for giving disabled man lift to bus stand

KUALA LUMPUR: A policeman has come in for praise after he gave a disabled man a ride to the bus stand.

Corporal Mohd Ropi Mat Ali and his colleague were doing their patrols via motorcycle in Taman Tun Dr Ismail when they came across a disabled man.

The man, who didn't have legs, was having great difficulty in trying to cross the road.

"The traffic was bad. I figure it would be hard for him to cross the road.

"I decided to give him a lift to the bus stand along Jalan Tun Mohd Fuad, just about 300 metres from there," he said.

His little act of kindness however did not go unnoticed. He was praised by none other than Inspector General of Police Tan Sri Khalid Abu Bakar, via a Facebook posting.

"Congratulations Corporal Ropi from Taman Tun Dr Ismail motorcycle patrol unit for helping a disabled man while patrolling," he said.

Facebook user Dz Dzul congratulated Ropi, saying tat such kind acts were needed in the police force.

Another user, Mustafa Kamal Terrence Gani, congratulated the corporal in a comment.

"Congratulations Corporal Ropi, you're the best!"
