High-tech campaign for BN's Kuala Kangsar by election candidate

KUALA LUMPUR: Umno will adapt to the limitations of campaigning for Barisan Nasional Kuala Kangsar by-election candidate Datin Mastura Mohd Yazid by utilising technology.

Mastura, 55, is in a four-month period of 'edah' or mourning following the death of her husband Datuk Wan Mohd Khair-il Anuar Wan Ahmad in a helicopter crash in Sarawak on May 8.

Umno information chief Tan Sri Annuar Musa said, under the circumstances, the party machinery will utilise mobile giant screens to project Mastura's campaign messages.

"As she is unable to go out and campaign herself, we will air recordings from her home and also construct a mini studio there," said Annuar.

"The messages on screens will be mobilised throughout the constituency."

Mastura, a lawyer, was announced on May 26 as the BN candidate for Kuala Kangsar to contest the parliamentary seat.

Annuar said despite the limitations in the campaigning process, the party remains confident in Mastura's ability as she has been an active member of the party, besides assisting her late husband.
