Solid waste separation checks kick off in Kedah [VIDEO]

ALOR SETAR: A total of 2,737 houses in Kedah were inspected in the enforcement of solid waste separation that begins nationwide today.

The Kedah Solid Waste Management and Public Cleansing Corporation (SWCorp) director Fadzilah Hasan said a total of 58 personnel were involved in the operation at 10 housing areas this morning.

She said the enforcement involved inspecting dustbins to check if the house owners separate their solid waste.

"If they fail to do so, we will issue notice of which they are given seven days to reply," she said.

She added if the owner fails to give a valid reason for their failure to separate the waste or they failed to reply at all, they will be compounded.
