'Superman' stunt lands father of two in jail

KUALA LUMPUR: A father of two and three friends who admitted performing ‘Superman’ stunts on their motorcycles were meted out four days’ imprisonment and RM5,000 fine each for riding in a reckless manner.

Salesman Saddam Husein Zulkifli, 25; boutique assistant Muhamad Fikri Ahmad Fauzi, 25; lorry attendant Mohd Roslan Fathalaripin, 24; and construction labourer Abdul Aziz Abdul Ghani, 21, committed the offence along Duta-Ulu Klang Expressway (DUKE) here around 5am yesterday (June 5).

Magistrate Noorul Fhaiez Mohd Nayan ordered them to serve the sentence from the date of their arrest, another three months in jail should they fail to settle the fine, and also suspended their motorcycle or driving licence for two years.

According to the facts of the case, police conducting an ‘Ops Samseng Jalanan’ patrol along the DUKE, intercepted the four in an outstretched ‘superman’ pose on top of their motorcycles.

Insp Hashimah Hashim prosecuted while the men were unrepresented. -- BERNAMA
