Sungai Nibong mosque cheered by RM200,000 allocation for upgrading work

SUNGAI BESAR: The congregation of the As Siraj Mosque in Sungai Nibong, here, today received good news in the form of a RM200,000 allocation for the mosque.

The allocation, meant for upgrading works of the mosque, was recently approved by the Federal government.

The news was relayed by Deputy Prime Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi to the mosque management committee shortly before they performed Isyak and Terawih prayers together with some 300 people.

A mosque official then announced this to the congregation shortly before the start of the Terawih prayers.

"I would like to announce and express our gratitude to Datuk Seri Zahid for the allocation for our mosque.

"Datuk Seri Zahid told me about the approval earlier when we had a meeting before the Isyak prayers.

"I had also relayed to him of the mosque's other applications to the government, and we hope he can give his considerations," he said.

Zahid is expected to leave for SMK Sungai Besar later to attend a ceramah by religious figure Datuk Kazim Elias.
