SEREMBAN: The wife of Rasah Umno chief Datuk Hasim Rusdi passed away today, after two years of battling a brain tumour.
Datin Salamah Shahardin breathed her last around 4.20pm.
She was 56.
When contacted, Hasim, who was on his way home from Sungai Besar, Selangor, confirmed the news.
“When I left her this morning, she looked okay. This is quite a shock to me,” said Hasim who is also state executive councillor for agriculture and basic industry.
He was in Sungai Besar for the by-election campaigning.
Salamah will be buried at the Labu Hilir cemetery tonight after Isyak prayers.
The tumour in her brain was first discovered in 2014, and she had been receiving treatment at the Hospital Tuanku Jaafar since.
