'DAP has invested plenty in PAN and want their dividend'

KUALA KANGSAR: The Barisan Nasional (BN) election machinery must be prepared for an all-out attack by the Opposition as the polling day draws close.

Umno vice-president Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said, as seen in previous elections, the Opposition would hurl various accusations and exploit issues that they believe could affect voters' support towards BN a few days before the important day.

"The Opposition aims to sway the support of fence-sitters their way," he said after meeting the Amanah Ikhtiar Malaysia friends here today.

The deputy prime minister hoped that voters would not be influenced by the Opposition’s tactic as only BN could fulfil all the pledges made.

"Voters should remain with BN and must not listen to the issues or rumours spread by the Opposition,” he said.

On DAP's effort to portray Parti Amanah Negara (PAN) as a liberal party, Zahid said DAP would do its best to ensure that the Pakatan Harapan candidates would win the by-elections.

"DAP is the backbone of Pakatan Harapan while PAN is their "ayam tambatan" (the key player).

"That is why DAP has to work hard as they have invested a lot and need their dividend," he said.
