Budiman to army vets: I got your back

SUNGAI BESAR : Barisan Nasional’s Sungai Besar by-election candidate Budiman Mohd Zohdi earlier today pledged to closely accord full attention to veteran soldiers, in appreciation of their contributions and sacrifices to the nation.

Speaking to about 150 veterans and servicemen’s widows, Budiman said, he saw himself as their younger brother who is keen to lend a hand.

"We shall meet soon to discuss on how BN and I can assist all of you. Do not hesitate to meet me next Wednesday as I am just like a younger brother to all of you," he said.

Earlier, Defence Minister Datuk Seri Hishamuddin Hussein said his ministry always appreciated the contributions of veteran soldiers, and despite the challenging global economy, he vowed to find every possible way to ensure that their welfare is taken care of.

"I have been the Defence Minister for only a short while and without all of you, I would not be where I am today.

"We decide the way forward not only for the ministry's current administration but also our veterans.

"If we can't get much allocation due to the economic uncertainty, the defence industry that benefits from the ministry's projects will be able to give financial support and I will give as much as I can to you," he said.

Hishammuddin also condemned the trend of hate politics which could provide entertainment on social media platforms but dangerous to the minds of the public at large.
