MALACCA: A three-year-old girl injured her hand when it became trapped in a escalator at a hypermarket in Ayer Keroh tonight.
A spokesperson from the state Fire and Rescue Department said the girl was sent to a nearby private hospital.
"Twelve personnel from the Ayer Keroh Fire and Rescue station arrived at the scene within three minutes of being alerted," he said in a statement.
He said the girl's hand was freed five minutes later. It is understood that she sustained only light injuries.
