(Badminton) Kian Meng-Pei Jing fail to clinch Taiwan Open title

KUALA LUMPUR: Tan Kian Meng-Lai Pei Jing failed to make it count when they crashed out in the final of the Taiwan Open GP Gold today.

The Malaysian mixed doubles who have yet to clinch their maiden international title lost 21-13, 21-16 to fifth seeds Zheng Siwei-Chen Qingchen of China.

It was Kian Meng-Pei Jing's third final appearance this year since the Malaysia Masters (January) and Poland International (March).

Kian Meng-Pei Jing, who were only paired late last year will compete at the Vietnam Open GP on July 18-24 next.

Meanwhile, in men's singles, Taiwan's Chou Tien Chen came out tops after seeing off China's Qiao Bin 21-18, 21-17.

There was more cheer for the host nation as second seed Tai Tzu Ying upset top seed Wang Shixian of China 23-21, 21-6 to claim the women's singles title.
