Dramas galore

WHILE most of us are back to work and school, some are still on holiday. Here are some exciting programmes that you can catch on your holiday.

Tomorrow at 9.30am, tune in to Adik Tak Tipu on TV3. This telemovie is about Alfie, a mischievous boy who is constantly causing trouble for his parents. Both his parents have exhausted their means to discipline Alfie, who can’t seem to settle down.

Within the family, Yeni, their domestic helper, is constantly bullied into submission. Things take on a worse turn when Alfie is caught smearing glue on his classmate’s head. Starring Wafiy Illhan, Fauzi Nawawi, Elly Mazlien and Najua Nasir.

Then at 2pm, tune in to Makbul, Sekerdil Doa at TV2. It is about Bol who sends his son to live with Anuar and Jameah, when the former decides to look for a job in the city.

In the beginning, Bol thinks living in the city is not much different than living in the village. Slowly, Bol turns into a materialistic person.

At times, he feels exhausted from chasing all the material wealth. At his wits’ end, Bol finally turns to God for guidance. Starring Yushazizi Yusof, Dato’ Jalaluddin Hasan, Kartina Aziz and Rashid Jaafar.

The classic Cantonese film Doubles Cause Troubles comes on at 3pm tomorrow on ntv7. Nurse Liang Shanbo and actress Zhu Yingtai are mismatched cousins who have just inherited a home from their late relative.

When they move in, they discover that a room has been rented out to a gangster named Ben. One night, Ben returns home bloodied and injured. He collapses into Yingtai’s arms and dies.

Before passing on, Ben whispers a code in her ear. Yingtai and Shanbo are later visited by a man claiming to be Ben’s brother who wants to solve the case. Starring Carol Cheng, Maggie Cheung and Wilson Lam.

Also tomorrow is The Whispers at 11pm on ntv7. A series of accidents start occurring around children, who seem to communicate with the same imaginary friend called Drill.

They secretly play his “games” in return for rewards that he promises. An FBI child specialist investigates and finds connections not only between the different children’s cases but also her own son and even her missing husband. Starring Lily Rabe, Barry Sloane, Milo Ventimiglia and Derek Webster.

Then on Sunday, Pergilah Airmata airs at 7pm on TV2. Adapted from the novel of the same name by Hanni Ramsul, it is about married couple Badrul and Sabrina.

They share a blissful life together before an incident transforms Badrul into a wife beater.

After having enough of abuse from Badrul, Sabrina decides to leave him for good. Starring Kamal Adli, Amar Asyraf and Nelydia Senrose.

Also on Sunday, tune in to the action film Rumble In The Bronx at 11pm on ntv7. Hong Kong-based officer Keung goes to New York to attend Uncle Bill’s wedding.

Bill has recently sold his grocery store to Elaine and announces his retirement. After a biker gang wreaks havoc in the store, Keung springs into action and tries to defend his family from the thugs. Starring Datuk Jackie Chan, Bill Tung and Anita Mui.
