PENAMPANG: A 31-year-old police corporal was found dead in his apartment from gunshot wounds, following a quarrel with his wife this morning.
Sabah Criminal Investigation department chief Datuk Salehuddin Abdul Rahman said police were notified of a loud explosion from the Cyber City apartments at 9.40am.
"Upon arrival, investigators found a policeman with a gunshot wound on his chest.
"It is believed he was shot following an argument with his wife," he told reporters.
The wife, 28, has been detained to assist the investigation.
The policeman's body was sent to Queen Elizabeth hospital for post mortem.
The couple from Johor have two children, aged 3 and 5.
Police have classified the case as murder, under Section 302 of the Penal Code.
