Business Times journo bags top prize in Pemudah Business Journalism Competition 2015

PUTRAJAYA: New Straits Times reporter Rupa Damodaran emerged the first prize winner of the Pemudah Business Journalism Competition 2015.

Her article, titled Going Beyond Scores In Age Of ‘New Normal’, was picked out from hundreds of entries submitted for the competition.

Rupa, who is attached to Business Times, walked away with a RM10,000 cash prize and a certificate of appreciation.

Two Berita Harian journalists also bagged top honours in the Bahasa Malaysia category. Mohd Rafi Mamat won first prize for his article, ‘OSC Atas Talian Lebih Cekap’, while his colleague Shahrizan Salian came in second for his article ‘Kecekapan Tenaga Menjadi Amalan’.

The competition was aimed at getting members of the Malaysian media to publish articles and reports on the robust transformative changes to the business landscape in Malaysia over the past few years as a result of Pemudah’s initiatives.

The award was presented by Chief Secretary to the Government Tan Sri Ali Hamsa.
