AmorePacific Malaysia upbeat over new skincare brand prospects

PETALING JAYA: Cosmetics company AmorePacific Malaysia Sdn Bhd is upbeat that newly-launched women's skincare brand Mamonde will contribute up to 20 per cent of the company's revenue here in four years.

AmorePacific Malaysia's general manager Margaret Chin said this at the opening of the Mamonde cosmetics counter at AEON at the One Utama shopping centre here today.

AmorePacific Malaysia is a wholly-owned subsidiary of South Korean cosmetics giant AmorePacific Corp, the 12th biggest beauty company in the world with brands like Laneige and Sulwhasoo in its stable of brands.

In June, it was reported that the company had bought land parcels from UEM Land Bhd, the wholly-owned subsidiary of UEM Sunrise Bhd, in the Southern Industrial and Logistics Clusters (SiLC) in Iskandar Puteri, Johor.

Chin said that the value of the land was around RM100 million and that the parent company will be spending an additional half a billion ringgit to establish the new facility.

In conjunction with its official launch, Mamonde is offering a complimentary eight-piece gift set with every purchase of RM350 (excluding value sets) until August 31.
