PM Najib arrives in Jakarta for working visit

JAKARTA: Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak has arrived here for a three-day working visit.

His plane landed at the Halim Perdana Kusuma International Airport at 6.15pm. Najib is accompanied by his wife Datin Seri Rosmah Mansor, cabinet ministers and government officials from relevant ministries and agencies.

The visit is in conjunction with the 11th Annual Consultation between Najib and Indonesian President Joko Widodo (Jokowi) and the 12th World Islamic Economic Forum (WIEF). The Annual Consultation will take place tomorrow (Aug 1), followed by the 12th WIEF from Aug 2 to 4.

Both leaders will discuss bilateral issues of mutual interest including economic cooperation, boundaries, migrant workers, transboundary haze and the energy sector.

They will also witness the signing of a bilateral agreement between Bank Negara Malaysia and Otoritas Jasa Keuwangan Indonesia under the Asean Banking Integration Framework, as well as the agreement between the Indonesian government and the Council of Palm Oil Producing Countries (CPOPC) on the Secretariat of CPOPC.

The WIEF, meanwhile, will be attended by leaders from several countries including Tajikistan, Guinea, Sri Lanka and Jordan, who will also have bilateral meetings with Najib.
