One-stop fashion hub

A new space adds to the growing list of stores offering different brands, writes Nadia Badarudin

NEW malls seem to be sprouting everywhere in Kuala Lumpur in recent years. Although it looks like a perfect excuse for shoppers to burn calories and help the economy by mall-hopping, the rest may prefer to shop at one location, especially if it offers a wide variety of ready-to-wear trends and styles.

If you are the kind who takes pride in wearing local brands, Pret-A-Porter may be the place.

Pret-A-Porter, which means ready-to-wear in French, is the newest addition to the rising trend of multi label boutiques or stores in the country, selling a plethora of trendy clothing items and brands all under one roof.

FOR EVERYONE

Occupying 630 sqm in G Village, Desa Pandan, Pret-A-Porter offers a good alternative for shoppers who wish to save time and cost while looking for exclusive designer pieces or “what’s trending”, particularly in the local fashion scene.

The store opened its doors recently, in a glorious ceremony graced by the presence of top celebrities, including Lisa Surihani, Erra Fazira, Arja Lee, Marsha, Amy Mastura and Amber Chia.

Set in a comfy, modern minimalist ambience, the locally-owned store is a one-stop fashion hub that caters to both men and women, as well as children and adults. Whether you like to dress up in a simple yet classy outfit or stand out from the crowd, there is something from the space to amp up your mundane wardrobe.

Ranging from rugged streetwear to stylish hijabista pieces, you will be spoilt for choice as the store offers a wide selection of affordable ready-to-wear in eclectic designs and chic styles suitable for formal meetings or casual soirees.

The store also sells fashion accessories such as necklaces, handbags and watches to complement or jazz up any ensemble.

POP LOCAL BRANDS

Being an ideal brick and mortar platform for online fashion vendors, Pret-A-Porter allocates its massive retail space to more than 50 local and international brands, which are a mix of popular labels and newcomers that are growing in popularity via the cyberspace.

Among them include Ezzati Amira, Syomirizwa Gupta, Jimmy Lim, Wanpa, FR by Fairuz Ramdan, Rubaq, Fern The New Batik, Madou, Comoddity, Bianco Mimosa, Benua Clothing, Sueka Sueka, Klambi KL, Altelia Amani, Secret Code Couture and When Our Eyes Met.

Nizatan, Clouwardrobe, Railey Scarves, as well as two international brands, Haute Hijab (US) and Modeste (Canada) offer Muslimah wear, while Darwish Rich Design, and Elle & Shayne sell cute outfits for children.
