RIO DE JANEIRO: A medal eluded Pandelela Rinong and Nur Dhabitah Sabri in the Rio Olympics 10m platform individual on Thursday.
Nur Dhabitah scored 338.00 to finish ninth while Pandelela, bronze medallist in this event in the 2012 London Games, collected 330.45 points for 11th spot.
Although she will leave Rio without a medal, Nur Dhabitah has a bright future.
"My first Olympics has been a great experience and I am looking forward to more," said the ever smiling Nur Dhabitah.
Pandelela said she tried her best but it was not her day.
"I kept motivating myself even though I knew a medal was slipping away after each dive. Still, I am happy to have made the final," said Pandelela.
Pandelela will leave Rio with the silver medal she won in the 10m platform synchronised with Cheong Jun Hoong.
China took the 10m platform individual gold and silver through Ren Qian (439.25) and Si Yajie (419.40).
