Three soldiers remanded for causing hurt to junior colleague

SIBU: Three soldiers from a military camp here were remanded on suspicion of causing hurt to their junior colleague last Sunday.

The incident, which occurred at about 12.30 pm, was uncovered when the 20-year-old victim informed his father about it on Monday.

The victim’s father, a 70-year-old former soldier from Rawang, Selangor subsequently lodged a police report.

The former soldier arrived here yesterday to visit his son before returning back this afternoon.

Confirming the case, Sibu District police chief ACP Saiful Bahari Abdullah said the victim was admitted to the Sibu Hospital for injuries of the spleen but was reported to be in stable condition.

He said all three suspects, aged between 21 to 31, were remanded for three days from today to assist in investigation under Section 325 of the Penal Code. --Bernama
