KUALA LUMPUR: A single mother today pleaded guilty at the High Court to possessing materials linked to a terrorist group.

Nor Izatul Farahirah Ismail, 36, admitted to being in possession of a black headband with the Jawi words 'Lailahailallah" and "Allah Rasul Muhammad" at an apartment at Block A2-0-2, Jalan Kampung Pandan, Desa Pandan at 11.50am on May 19.

The mother of one was charged under Section 130JB (1)(a) of the Penal Code and faces a jail term of up to seven years, upon conviction.

Judge Datuk Paduka Azman Abdullah told deputy public prosecutor Noor Syazwani Mohamad Sobry to make arrangements with the Legal Aid Bureau for Izatul to get legal representation.

"The accused must understand the implication of pleading guilty to the offence and she must get some legal representation."

The court fixed Sept 19 for document submission, mitigation and also sentencing.
