Digi celebrates 59th Merdeka with #BukaLaHati Campaign (Video)

In conjunction with Malaysia's 59th National Day, Digi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd (Digi) kicked off its #BukaLaHati campaign with a viral YouTube video that has so far received over 2.7 million views, 98,000 shares and 42,000 likes on Facebook, all within five days.

Digi said that the campaign, in line with this year's National Day theme of #SehatiSejiwa, aims to bring Malaysians together and forge deeper connections with one another in the spirit of understanding and tolerance.

A series of inspiring stories of Malaysians will be released on its social media platforms from August 25 through Merdeka Day and leading up to Malaysia Day on 16 September. The first video, Connect to be Free, went viral as soon as it was released.

Chan May Ling, Head of Marketing Services for Digi said, "We hope that these heartwarming stories will inspire and remind Malaysians that this nation is not just made up of individuals who share the same country, but also the same dreams of peace and happiness. It is important that we respect and understand one another.

“When we #BukaLaHati and connect with each other without bias and prejudice, we will live the spirit of #SehatiSejiwa. We hope that Malaysians will be inspired by the stories we share and join us in spreading the positivity with their friends and families."

As part of the Merdeka celebrations, Digi is also giving away free Digi Prepaid Live packs to Malaysian citizens at all Digi stores nationwide from 30 August to 16 September, while stocks last.

Digi Prepaid customers who subscribe or renew their Internet Unlimited monthly plans from 30 August to 2 September will also enjoy 59 minutes of free talk time, while customers who are looking to get their hands on a new smartphone can purchase the Samsung Galaxy J3 at RM299 only with the Digi Postpaid 48 plan.
