NSTP bags 17 honours in Pahang-DRB Hicom Media Awards

KUANTAN: The New Straits Times Press (NSTP) emerged the biggest winner at the Pahang-DRB Hicom Media Awards 2016 ceremony tonight when it bagged 17 awards in various categories.

New Straits Times (NST) reporter T.N. Alagesh won the first place in English News and Special Report categories.

He also won third place in the Sports category.

NST's sister publications, Harian Metro (HM) and Berita Harian (BH) also bagged several awards.

HM reporter Shah Rul Aswary Abdullah emerged the winner in the Bahasa Melayu Special Report category and third place in the Environmental Reporting category.

HM bureau chief Mohd Fauzi Abdullah bagged third place in the Bahasa Melayu Special Report category.

The Bahasa Melayu News category saw a clean sweep by HM, with Mohd Rafi Mamat emerging the winner followed by Raja Norain Hidayah Raja Abdul Aziz.

HM stringer Shahrul Nizam Mohamad bagged the first and second place in the Crime Report category.

BH reporter Amin Ridzuan Ishak won second place for the Environmental Report category.

NSTP photographers Zulkepli Osman, Farizul Hafiz Awang and Luqman Hakim Zubir also made a clean sweep in various photography categories.

Zulkepli, who is also the photo coordinator, won the first and second place for Sports Photography, while Farizul Hafiz emerged as the winner in the Human Interest category.

Luqman Hakim won the Photo Essay category as well as third place for the Human Interest category.

Tengku Mahkota of Pahang Tengku Abdullah Sultan Ahmad Shah presented the prizes.

Present were DRB Hicom group managing director Datuk Seri Syed Faisal Albar and Pahang Press Club president Datuk Nik Naizi Husin.

There were 150 entries submitted for the awards.
