Traffic building up at major highways

KUALA LUMPUR: Traffic flow along certain major highways is reported to be slow as of 8.30am as city dwellers head to their respective destinations in conjunction with Aidiladha and the school holidays.

A PLUS Malaysia Bhd spokesman cited Kuala Kangsar to Bukit Berapit, Terowong Menora to Sungai Perak, Bandar Casia to Juru and Slim River to Sungkai as being among the affected routes.

“The crawl at KM308.5 northbound from Tapah to Gopeng is also due to an accident involving a car and a lorry. There were no fatalities and the traffic is under control.

“A bumper-to-bumper accident also occurred at KM444.4 at Sungai Buloh towards Rawang involving two vehicles. There is no obstruction,” he told Bernama when contacted here, today.

According to a spokesman from the Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), traffic was slow along the stretch before the Gombak Toll Plaza heading east while other routes towards the east coast was reported to be under control.
