EC re-delineation exercise favours DAP incumbents, says Gerakan

PUTRAJAYA: The initial analysis from the Election Commission (EC) re-delineation exercise appears to favour all incumbent DAP members, said Gerakan president Datuk Seri Mah Siew Keong.

Mah said it was baffling to see DAP members calling for a snap poll in Selangor, instead of being pleased.

“Even we (Gerakan) are unhappy about the re-delineation exercise by the EC. We will be submitting our objections in several areas, according to procedure.

“But I do neither the need nor do I agree with a snap poll in Selangor. They (DAP) did not even discuss it with their PKR counterparts.

“Instead of politicising the issue, I think Lim Kit Siang (DAP advisor) should advise Jelutong member of parliament Jeff Ooi about apologising over the remark against the late Pas spiritual advisor Datuk Dr Haron Din,” he said after chairing the Plantation Industries and Commodities Ministry dialogue 2016, here, today.

Meanwhile, Mah said Gerakan has identified several areas to submit their objections over on the re-delineation exercise.

He said the issue would also be discussed at the Barisan Nasional meeting this Friday followed by the party’s meeting on Saturday.

Gerakan has 45 parliamentary and state assembly seats.
