SETIU: The probe into the gruesome murder of a painter at a house in Kampung Jelapang here on Sept 19 continued with police questioning and recording the statements of 12 people, including the victim’s relatives and neighbours.
District police chief Deputy Superintendent Elias Abubakar said all of those questioned are aged between 23 and 55, and most are from the same village.
He said police are investigating the case under Section 302 of the Penal Code for murder.
"Police are in the process of completing the Investigation Papers," he said.
Last Monday, the 37 year-old painter was brutally gunned down in his house and two men, aged 37 and 46, were arrested on the same day to assist the investigation.
The victim, Erdy Alias from Kampung Gong Kepas, Kampung Raja in Besut, died after being shot nine times at close range in the early morning incident.
