PETALING JAYA: Local singer-songwriter Yuna has had a great year so far, which seems to be solidifying her career as an international artiste in America.
The release of her chart-topping duet, Crush, with Grammy Award-winning American singer-songwriter Usher in February was followed by her latest album, Chapters, which came out in May to positive reviews.
This month’s issue of American fashion magazine InStyle also saw an elegant and chic-looking Yuna in its glossy pages.
Then last week, her song, All I Do, was featured during a scene in the premiere episode for Season 13 of popular medical drama TV series, Grey's Anatomy. The episode was aired by ABC in the US on Sept 22.
All I Do is the last song on Chapters, her third international album, which was released through Verve Records.
The ballad, which was co-written and co-produced by Grammy Award-winning composer David Foster, comes on during a scene in the episode when main character Dr Meredith Grey, played by Ellen Pompeo, reveals the identity of the individual who actually hit Andrew DeLuca, another character in the series.
Grey's Anatomy has been known to have made many artistes even more popular after their songs were featured in its episodes.
The popularity of Adele's Chasing Pavements was off the charts after it was played in an episode on the long-running show.
Yuna is currently in the midst of her American tour, after wrapping up a series of performances in several European cities.
