Policemen who perform poorly could face the boot

KUALA LUMPUR: Policemen who perform poorly or fail to meet their Key Performance Indicator (KPI) could have their services ended under the newly-introduced Exit Policy.

Federal police management director Datuk Seri Zulkifli Abdullah said the management has identified 446 policemen who had scored less than 60 per cent in their annual performance evaluation for last year.

“A special committee comprising senior police officers will be formed in every state contingent to monitor their respective staff who recorded poor performances.

“The committee will guide them and give them a year to improve their performance. If they fail to improve, they will be given a way out from the service," said Zulkifli, adding that the senior officers must also play their roles in guiding their policemen.

Zulkifli was speaking after attending the 2015 Excellence Service Awards ceremony at Bukit Aman.

He presented 54 federal policemen with awards. A total of 10,400 policemen nationwide were named as award recipients.
