Johor government all for political financing reform proposal

JOHOR BARU: The Johor government supports the Political Donation and Expenditure Act proposed by the National Consultative Committee on Political Financing.

Johor Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the proposal should be accepted by all parties if they want a healthy political culture.

"I agree with the proposal and (hope) there will not be any obstruction to its implementation. I hope all parties accept the proposal.

"I fully support it, but it has to be supported by all parties before it can be carried out," said Khaled, who is Johor Menteri Besar.

He was speaking to reporters after opening the international-level Wajadiri Silat Cekak Pusaka Hanafi Tournament 2016 at Galleria@Kotaraya Johor Baru today.

It was reported that Prime Minister and Umno president Datuk Seri Najib Razak yesterday lauded the proposal to table new laws under the proposed Political Donation and Expenditure Act.
