PPBM ready to discuss seat allocation with Pas for next GE

KEMAMAN: Parti Pribumi Bersatu Malaysia (PPBM) is ready to sit and discuss with Pas on seat allocation for the next general election (GE).

Its president Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin said the discussion will be held soon.

“We hope that Pas can allocate some seats for (PPBM), especially the seats that they lost to Barisan Nasional in the last general election,” he said in Kemasik, here, today.

Muhyiddin said the opposition could not win if there were three-cornered fights.

“Our aim right now is to win in the next general election. It does not matter who will compete as long as we are on the same side. Therefore, we must win 130 to 140 seats to topple the current government,” he said.

Muhyiddin said as it was believed the next general election would be held in June or July next year, it was crucial for the opposition to work together starting now.

“I do not think that the general election will be held in 2018... if the election is to be held earlier than that, we have no problem as we are ready to fight them, especially with the support of Pas,” he said.

Present were Pas vice-president Idris Ahmad and election director Datuk Mustafa Ali.
