Marriott with children: Marriott Int'l adds Starwood to its portfolio

WITH the addition of the Starwood Hotels & Resorts portfolio, Marriott International has expanded to include 30 hotel brands.

With this acquisition, the American multinational diversified hospitality company has set a new global standard for Unrivalled Travel Experiences & Expanded Loyalty Benefits.

Now, it has more than 5,700 hotels and 1.1 million rooms in over 110 countries.

Its portfolio includes a series of quintessential luxury and lifestyle names such as The Ritz-Carlton, St Regis, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, JW Marriott, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels and Edition, Westin, Renaissance and Autograph Collection.

Premium brands like Marriott Hotels and Sheraton anchor the portfolio and provide wide choices around the world for business and leisure travel.

Members of Marriott’s loyalty programme, Marriott Rewards (which includes The Ritz-Carlton Rewards) and Starwood Preferred Guest, can now link their accounts at members.marriott.com to enjoy the benefits, recognition and experiences each programme has to offer.

Members can transfer and redeem points across programmes.

Those who link their accounts will be able to transfer points on a three-to-one ratio (three Marriott Rewards points = one SPG Starpoint) for redemption stays or on the Marriott Rewards Experiences Marketplace or SPG’s Moments platform.
