KUCHING: A man is missing after his fishing boat capsized in waters near Tanjung Po, Muara Tebas near here last night.
The man’s partner managed to escape unharmed.
It is learnt that their fishing boat overturned after it was hit by a strong wave at around 11pm.
The surviving fisherman, identified as Hamdi Jarawi, managed to swim ashore and his condition is reported stable.
The missing man has been identified as Razali Bet, 36.
A Malaysian Maritime Enforcement Agency (MMEA) spokesman confirmed receiving a report over the incident at 6.30am today.
"Two teams have been deployed on a search mission to locate the missing fisherman," he said.
