KUALA LUMPUR: The Sultan of Kelantan, Sultan Muhammad V has been named as the 15th Yang di-Pertuan Agong by the Conference of Rulers at the Istana Negara today.
A statement by the Keeper of the Rulers’ Seal, Datuk Seri Syed Danial Syed Ahmad, said the appointment is effective Dec 13, for five years.
The Sultan of Perak, Sultan Nazrin Muizzuddin Shah, has been appointed as the Timbalan Yang di-Pertuan Agong for the same period.
The 243rd Conference of Rulers was attended by all Malay rulers. It was chaired by the Raja Perlis, Tuanku Syed Sirajuddin Putra Jamalullail.
